Richard Martins is the Head of Business Development-South at FCMB Pensions Limited with over 18 years of consummate experience in the Financial Services Industry. Before his appointment, Richard was the Regional Manager-South and was responsible for the design and implementation of the Business restructuring of the Business Development Unit in Lagos to streamline processes, roles and functions.

Richard had, before joining FCMB Pensions, led a team of High Value Client Relationship Managers at ARM Pensions in Lagos and Port-Harcourt with responsibilities including developing strategies to grow the business, maintain the company’s leading position in the industry and drive an over-arching customer retention vision. 

Richard had joined the ARM Group as a Financial Advisor (Private Wealth and Retail) in 2005 before leaving in 2009 to head the Retail Sales unit of AFRINVEST (2009- 2011). He has also worked as a Risk and Project Management Consultant with AFRisk Management Consultants Limited and Stedman Denny Limited UK within the EMEA region, where he was a key and senior member of the team responsible for the design and implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework of companies/institutions such as First Bank Capital, Dangote Industries Limited (UK, Senegal, Nigeria, and Zambia) and The Central Bank of Nigeria.

Richard has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and is an Associate of the Risk Management Institute of Nigeria, a member of the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a designated compliance professional of The Compliance Institute of Nigeria. He is also a certified Prince2 practitioner which he earned with a distinction at the University of Westminster, Marylebone, London. He has attended courses at the Management Institute of Technology (MIT), Harvard Law, The Wharton School University of Pennsylvania, Yale University, as well as technical courses with The IMF and The World Bank.
